The ingredients! Always remember that your skin absorbs what you put on it. Q2: What is the purpose of lye in soap? Without lye (sodium hydroxide mixed with liquid), the oils in your recipe would stay oils. Nothing would happen to them. A chemical change involving lye must happen in order to create soap. You need lye to make soap, even natural ones. Q3: What about organic and natural store-bought soaps? Aren’t they lye free?? All true soaps are made with some form of lye. If not, then they’re detergent based products. Any skin or hair cleansing product made without sodium hydroxide (Lye) is not soap, it is detergent. Q4: Is there Lye in natural soap? Won't it harm my skin? The answer is yes, of course. No lye -- No soap! REAL soap is made with lye. However, there is no lye present in the finished soap bars. While all real soap must be made with lye, no lye remains in our finished product after the saponification process. We Pour the Soap mixture Into the Mold The Oils mixture is mixed with the Lye Water, Slide the mixture into the mold . Hand Cut After the soaps set for almost 48 hours, it would then be sturdy enough to unmold and slice. Let it dry on shelves Our soap stays on shelves for 2 months to dry before packing. Just like organic olive oil soap bars should be. I loved them, specially the Rose and Lavender scents.
