Contrary to what everyone else said about the pad, it CAME OFF on mine. Either I got an updated version or a 'dud'. I remember that the other applicators I bought, the padding DID NOT come off of those ones. This was the best pad with the wooden handle I could find. I bought many applicators on Amazon and I gotta say that this was the better one. The handle had a nice black colored rubber grip. It was comfortable. The overall length was a 'tad' short for my liking. If it wasn't for a rolling pad I found elsewhere, I might've kept this one.The handle will come loose from the applicator if you aren't careful. I always make sure to apply lotions and creams side to side rather than up and down. If not an expensive prescription cream can end up on the floor. Let's just say I'm not putting anything on my skin that fell on my floor even though I'm a fastidious guy.This is a wonderful tool for applying liquids/lotions directly to those "difficult" places on your body to reach... like between your shoulder blades or small of your back. Cleanup is "a piece of cake"... just a "once over" with a handy-wipe and the applicator is clean and sanitized for your next use.Staying in my house so much with this pandemic going on, my normally smooth skin has gotten terribly dry. I am applying a lot of lotion now, much more than I used to. I needed something to apply it to my back, and this applicator does the job very well. It does not come with extra pads, and doesn't need to, the way it's made. The head is solid, but porous enough to hold the lotion, yet I can see that it's not something that would wear out very soon and need to be replaced. It's just fine for me. The makers went a little overboard, though, by finishing the wooden handle with some kind of lacquer, which is very nice, but it gets slippery after a while unless you can keep the lotion off your hands (hard to do). A better handle would be like the wooden ones (with loofahs) in my shower -- no finish at all, providing a much better grip. The lotion applicator also has a plastic handle on the wood handle, which really gets slippery for me, so I don't use it. It only takes a tiny smudge of lotion on my hands to have trouble with the handle, even though I try to be very careful. It doesn't stop me from using the applicator, however. I like the hook that came with it. Hanging it on the wall above the tub/shower is very handy. A very thoughtful touch. I like this applicator very much and recommend it highly.I use this to help put sunblock on my back, and also a topical medication called Voltaren gel it helps me reach those areas that are hard to reach. I think cleaning it was fairly easy my only issue is that if I have it upside down to reach the middle of my back the pad pops off, and goes on the ground.. overall it's super handy and for the price I'd say it's pretty good quality and I do recommendI like this lotion applicator. It seems to be a good quality and that it will stand up over time. It is very easy to apply to the back where I need it the most. Plus it is super easy to clean. I am happy with this purchasegood everythingmost lotion applicators are hard and not much lotion gets onto skin especially on the back. usually justwastes lotion and makes a mess.this one gets most of the lotion on my back and is easy to clean. also feels more comfortable than thehard plastic ones.Product was used for application of lotion for back fungal rash.Please refund cost of second product which has been returned.
